David Lai That said, I have many differences with him that we couldnāt agree on even what most people consider to be reality situations. So, I do find what he posts rather weird.
This, up here, to begin with. According to him āwhat most people consider to be reality,ā is followed by, āwhat he posts is rather weird.ā Because I assume thereās only one reality (to stick with modeling vs. sampling discussion), and that is that modeling (Pianoteq) sounds like a āsynthā to all, yet it turns out that some, not just Pete, do prefer it, and to this āminorityā it sounds like āa piano,ā if not like āthe piano;ā and yes, a few of these people (completely detached from reality) do play classical music, so itās not just āJazzersā that might have the audacity of preferring Pianoteq
David Lai All in all, I was indeed provoked by Peteās (humble?) opinions, and Iām sorry that Iāve been out of character. That said, I have many differences with him that we couldnāt agree on even what most people consider to be reality situations. So, I do find what he posts rather weird.
Again, heās āthe victimā, yet refuses to admit he called my writing āstrange & dumb,ā not to mention, that he implied that Iām not at the level of Mac; therefore, he speaks to me differentlyā¦.
David Lai And I donāt know why he calls it having fun? Because as I listened to these posts, I donāt see the humor in them.
This is a valid point; that what I might perceive as humor might not be funny to all.
David Lai when I tried convincing him of reality, and he refuses to step down and continues to say that that synthesizer is the best piano plug-in available, I had nothing to do but I let him back down from the thread, because he is clearly not aware of how something sounds, to begin with. And from then on, Iāve been surprised at his words many times.
Do I need to say more? Yes!
Iām clearly not aware of āhow something sounds,ā and even though most of the sampling aficionados believe that sampling is ābetter than modeling,ā Iām not allowed to say that to me that is not necessarily the case; of course, Iāll say it in my usual, tongue-in-cheek style, but stillā¦..
David Lai So thatās what itās all about. And interestingly, he claims to meet us in the middle, but he still is critical of sampling, and less so of modeling.
Exactly, and most of you are critical of modeling, and less so of sampling.
