My pianos 2.0 stable release

[deleted]

zeldalink Not sure what you mean by "adding CFX in Sofia's pianos". You can load CFX in Sforzando since SFZ is a precursor to / simplified version of Aria. But that would not really make sense. You get less functionalities You would want to upgrade not downgrade.

MacMacMac

Maybe zelda meant to say "please sample a Yamaha CFX and make it the sixth piano in the Sofia collection" ?

zeldalink

Yes, that's what I wanted to say.

QuasiUnaFantasia

CFX's probably don't hang on trees in Italy. But since there are already fine sampled CFX's out there, why not wish for an Italian Borgato instead?

zeldalink

[deleted] My apologies. I thought I was looking a discussion about reverb and posted.

Pete14

zeldalink My apologies. I thought I was looking a discussion about reverb and posted.

You are forgiven, but keep in mind that we do not take kindly to such digressions ‘round here…

Surely, your newbie status allows for some mistakes, but we are running a tight ship, and those falling out of line will be fed to the sharks!

Good day to you,

Pete XIV

QuasiUnaFantasia

Pete14 It is well for you to remind us simple peasants of the rules, your tightship!

Pete14

But you are my Chief Mate, and not a ‘simple peasant’; or so I thought!

Perhaps it’s time we drop you off at the next port (Indonesia), so you can clear your mind and get your priorities straight.

I can’t have a Chief Officer running around thinking himself a peasant, for that will send a wrong message to the actual peasants on this ship!

Get it together, Sir!

zeldalink

Pete14 Drifted down from the far east, I am confused by the cultural differences. But anyway thank you for your forgiveness. Good night. no, Good day.

Pianissimo

Bluthner sounds the best. That Fazioli probably was a so so one from the early period. ah no, it's 2020 actually.

zeldalink

zeldalink I noticed that it could be modified more easily. Just add one line of "<master>" as follows.

After this modification, the description of noise becomes the 5th "<master>" and does not depend on the state of the pedals. Conversely, before the modification, it was part of the 4th "<master>"(if both pedals are down).

I don't know if the resulting sound is appropriate for a piano or not. I don't know much about real pianos.

===============================================

<master>

<group> //Release Dampers

volume=-20

ampeg_attack=.005 ampeg_decay=60 ampeg_sustain=10 ampeg_release=0.8

....

zeldalink

zeldalink My apologies. I thought it was an easy and good idea. But the half damper did not works with the previous modification. To solve, I think, all 4 "<master>" need to include the description noise related.

[deleted]

Pianissimo Indeed. The Blüthner is the best.

Sofia_MZ

zeldalink which release are you referring to?

zeldalink

Sofia_MZ I confirmed reproduction with the following SFZ.

CV_Grand_Piano-2.0.zip/CV_Grand_Piano_with_noise-2.0-BETA.sfz

The problem is that the noise is only while both pedals are down. Personally, I only use noiseless SFZ and do not need a solution. I was modifying the famous Salamander for myself and noticed this problem.

Sofia_MZ

zeldalink Thanks. I will look into it and fix it in the 2.1 release which is due soon.

zeldalink

Great! But please do not work too hard.

CeDur

I've downloaded it to try and I have to say I'm suspicious.

zeldalink

Sofia_MZ Sorry for the many times. To avoid tedious work, I think one way is to keep sfz simple. For example, a user who are not interested in noise, same as before, play one SFZ (without noise). Other hand, a user who interested in noise, using DAW, mix one sfz ( without noise ) and another one ( only noise ). In this case, sfz ( only noise ) is simple like this.

HZPiano

zeldalink

From the point of view of hobbying with the scripts you may be right.

But for those who just want to play using the standalone Sforzando (or other) player, your suggestion would introduce a problem: these people would never be able to play the "full" (with noise) pianos.

So all in all, I'd say @Sofia_MZ 's approach is spot on.

Cheers and happy playing,

HZ
