Wow, that's really cool!!! I'd love to know more about this program. This may be useful for me.
Glad you're enjoying Modern D as well. It's great from Mozart to modern. š
Well, as we wait for Olivier's performance with orchestra, let me try my hands at the beginning of this sad but beautiful movement.
David Lai beautiful, I started hearing the orchestra in my head after your wonderful intro ā¤ļø
pianow one of the things that really stood up to me (at first) was the interface,
another great thing about the interface is that everything is in the main page, you must have something very specific in mind to reach other pages, like tuning, or something like adjusting the velocity curve (a once in a lifetime adjustment)
everything else is right there in the main page, i love this design, it's truly user friendly
I agree the interface is really well done, and extremely intuitive to use. I actually design interfaces for a living so I always appreciate this aspect.
In my opinion this - along with VSL Synchron series - have the best designed interfaces of any piano VI. Ivory 3 is also quite nice, but I'm not as wild about the overall aesthetic (admittedly subjective) while the main controls are split across several screens which makes it a bit more cumbersome to navigate. On the Modern D (and Modern U) almost all of the important parameters are on a single interface which makes it very user friendly.
The only thing I wish is that the main window could be scaled up to be larger, as it really looks quite small on a large screen. However this is probably a limitation of the UVI platform itself and not something they can control.

You can do it. Click on the three lines, then preferences, then scaling (off the top of my head).

Thanks for the tip - I will have to check it out later this evening.
@David Lai Glad its released - and lets not forget - Congrats on making your first youtube video.....

OMG, you people have gone mad!
You do know what it means to start hearing things in your head that arenāt really there? š
I understand that after all these years of waitinā for the holy grail, yet not getting it, desperation can indeed lead to hallucinations, but I ask that we take two steps back, reassess, and then slowly approach the Modern D, so as to not get hypnotized by its charm.
If the Modern D proves itself worthy (over time), then, and only then, should we consider coronation, but if we rush to conclusions simply based on some awesome performances, and hastily coronate the Modern D, we risk yet another blow to the heart (and wallet).
Stand back & stand by, I say!
Pete14 There's enormous momentum for this VI, because of the cult like status of the Modern U, and the lack of a recent virtual grand from same company. The current wave of enthusiasm is unlikely to end any time soon.

Good point, fellow āLogician!ā
I suppose itās up to us (Logicians) to make sure that this āwave of enthusiasmā is kept under control before it turns into a tsunami that kills us allā¦..
Pete14 this enthusiasm will continue. Weāve even got Olivier on! Over behavior and beauty, I would always choose beauty. You donāt have to preach to me, I wonāt be converted by you. And I hope this tsunami will eventually win over you.
dore_m thank you! I didnāt know it was so easy to make a video like this. The text and interface was added by VI Labs, not me.
@David Lai now for voiceovers and video at the same time.... Then two camera angles.
dore_m Iāll slowly make progress in that department, Dore.
Pete14 do I sense some nervousness because people are hyped about something else than Pianoteq after the relative silence from sample-based companies? š You thought samples were over, PT is almost there, ājust wait for the next version, it will finally sound like a pianoā⢠and out of a sudden thereās a new sampled piano thatās even better than previous sampled pianos. I can feel the pain and the sour taste. But donāt worry, PT will certainly sound like a piano in the next major version! šš»
CyberGene are you among the Pianoteq group as well? You are missing a lot! That synth still has ways to go.
Ohh, no, no, no 𤣠Iām one of the most well-known PT critics! Some PT aficionados hate me so much, every time I post something critical about PT, they would anonymously trash my piano videos on YouTube. It was a tongue in cheek comment with Pete š

CyberGene Ah, cool, haha. Good to know, thank you! š
