Roland are releasing a software piano

David B

MacMacMac Yes, Roland is better than Pianoteq.

Pete14 I’m sorry, but I can’t let this pass!

I ask the moderators to take action; because this kind of slander is unacceptable!

Let me put it this way, Pianoteq 6 is better than that BS “reality” in the so-called “new” Rolands, and you can take that to the bank, have it verified, and cash it out!

If you want to cash something, cash this:

Numa Stage D is better than both Pianoteq and Roland.

Take that to the bank suckas! 🤘😎

I’ll give you this, David, I’ve heard “good things” about this Stage D, and whilst I want to make it clear that I’m not part of the NUMA-CULT, I do appreciate the fact that they are providing free updates (I can’t believe I just said that, and I wonder if the cult is subliminally manipulating me)…..🤔

You don't have to worry about being manipulated by the truth. The truth will set you free. 😉

The other David says: "Bow down to the truth / master!" Need we convince you more, Pete?

David Lai

Pete14 Instead of PTQ providing paid updates every beginning of the next version, StudioLogic gives their users free updates. Isn't that fantastic? I don't use StudioLogic products, but even I love that sound!

Just my two cents.

I owe a Roland with the Supernatural and, while I'm not overly fond of Pianoteq, I do think some of their instruments, such as the Petrof, the Steingraber, and the Bluethner, do sound better than my F107 onboard piano.
Following Stu Harrison's counter-intuitive advice (decrease touch sensitivity and increase brightness), tinkering with the tuning and so on, I was able to finally get a decent sound out of it. The mid range is still
a tad harsh but the highs are okay.
Then again, no onbord sound compares to VSTs.
I haven't tried Roland high-end modelled pianos and, as pointed out here and in other threads, I question Roland's taste in terms of what kind of sound they deem as ideal.
But, when I practice and have Pianoteq coming out of my monitor speakers, the improvement in the pleasantness of the sound is quite noticeable.

I feel I have to provide some aid for @Pete14 . I recently tried the new LX9 from Roland which I suppose have their latest and greatest sound engine and no sound in that piano rivals the new Bösendorfer from Pianoteq IMHO.

Khuja Wangtishvili

I listened to the new Roland, no like, very artificially sound, especially in classical pieces. No fun of listening to the Pictures at an exhibition excerpt.

Thank you, Sir!

It seems like the truth eventually finds its way to cut through the BS; although I’ll admit that sometimes it can be slow at it……

i also think that the ptq 280vc is the finest modeled piano on the market

CyberGene

Pianoteq is the best among the modeled software pianos.

Pete14

CyberGene Pianoteq is the best

It seems my work is done here!

pianow

Pete14
yea? so pack it up and hit the road buddy😂

johanibraaten

yeah, it’s not bad and a step forward for Pianoteq IMO. Especially for certain music it can provide a really enjoyable playing experience

I think they still have ways to go before I’m truly convinced. I’m still in the sample camp, and Pete14 won’t effect me!

kawafanboi

they should've done this years ago, and switched to controllers w/ pi's

there's no reason we need these oddball custom boards just to do something so basic.

the only custom board we need is a good hifi-section dac and amplifier.

i don't believe rolo is up to the standard of Pianoteq though, they are by far the most advanced piano engine.

David Lai

I'm in the sample camp as well
i just said it's the best between the shitty sounding modelled pianos, it's not even comparable to the most affordable sampled pianos that i have (like my beloved grandeur which i bought for 20$ if I'm not mistaken, i Bought it as an included instrument in the komplete bundle so i don't exactly know how much I've paid for it but it was pretty low for sure)

and yea the modeling has yet to sound even normal

MacMacMac

PTQ? Is that a new addition to the acronym … as in LGBTQIAPTQ ?

pianow

MacMacMac

yup, it's the symbol of people who attracted to fake versions of a real life subject
and Pete's a member, his (sorry) pronounce is digi/hybr
