How to promote the forum to the world?

Just a comment to illustrate the importance of increasing the number of PianoClack members: Johanibraaten also posted this question on PW and got a couple of very helpful replies, and none here… Without a larger base of members, it gets complicated to decide where to post, and we may end up posting twice, and that is twice the effort and twice the probability of giving up on one forum…

As it happens your optimum number of words/phrases would be 144 don't forget the commas and you can and most do include misspelt words where needed. - just sayin 🙂

Do we really want to turn this place into another mall?

I thought we were a family-run, specialized, intimate kind of place, and now we’re even talking about taking out ads for the masses to “come on down” and spoil everything we’ve worked so hard for!

Where else can you find a dedicated thread on Yuja, and no, it’s not about her playing abilities……

Also, it’s not just “Yuja threads” that get hit on, for as we’ve proven recently, we’re also very fond of taking shots at each other -Covid thread- (yes, pun intended).

So, let it ride on its own, the forum, without having to add “problems” to a thread’s title simply to attract more google-eyeballs, and let us start more threads that genuinely arouse our basic instincts, like “DIY piano sensors” and the occasional ‘Lola Astanova plays Victoria’s Secret.’

Agreed.

My hunch is that too many folks have grown accustomed to the increasing sad, stunted state of information finding affairs when it comes to finding that information by way of search engines, which is to say, if a person does not sufficiently tell the search engine what to look for, the engine serves up whatever crap it deems “relevant”, the average searching person consumes data from the top few listed results, life goes on …..

Seriously, the gargantuan mega super msm-approved search engine cannot potentially find and subsequently list pianoclack among the candidate results …. and people are okay with looking past the lincoln-log brand of search engine rocket science that pins the “sorry, can’t find it, but be content with a scholarly substitute for what you are looking for” blame on the minds that had the nerve to create a new web site name lacking a friggin space …..?

This is all kinds of wrong ….. as bad if not worse than the kind of 💩wrong the advanced AI minds at Jeopardy dumped so as to awe the world of master trivia fans with the big blue computer version of master contestant …. that required changing some of the old rules of this game to prop up old blue’s lack of a most fundamental skill that past human champions have nearly always had in spades - what is reading? ….. a la reading the answer and buzzing in with the correct answer in the form of question before the host finished dictating the answer/clue - …… what is reading? is/was the figurative cognitive-achilles-heel to big blue as can’t-find-it-without-a-friggin-space is to the virtual folks at goo gle 🤔 ….. InMyHunchHumbleOpinion!

I think Navindra's point was that if you google the phrase "Piano Forum," Piano World shows up, but Pianoclack doesn't. Perhaps if the name of this forum were Piano Clack Forum, then it would show up under general piano forum searches.

However, this subject is out of my lane so I might not know what I'm talking about.

My bad …. for not noticing the virtual world teeters on the lack of clack with two spaces …. and a forum …. not unlike twomenandababy …. sorta …. except the search engine i use does in fact find two men and a baby , in the form of a video, on the tippy top of the list of results .

I too am out of my lane 🤫 this is near the top of the list of reasons why i’m still here 🙂

Piano forum for piano enthusiasts who are welcome to discuss everything

It’s a bit repeating and doesn’t sound good but I can’t come up with a nice single sentence description that also starts with “piano forum”. Let me know if you have better ideas 🙂

Ones readily misspelt and also maybe some stuff about playing the piano, some of them could be misconstrued as I know a lot of people who use hammers to build houses. So digital piano no plurals oh yeah and include pianoworld so we can hitch a ride too 🙂

Do web crawlers …. indexers or the like read such SEO settings? If “yes” than that seems it may be a good place for you to inform the crawlers of the sort of things going on here in which average web-searching-sometimes-piano-minded-folks might be interested.

How did a search engine i used (in an example) know to list as a result that pianoclack forum #222 (discussion/thread number?) has pete is here among any results, #2 or higher or lower on the list?

How or why did a different search engine example list among the results the particular text/description from keyworddensitychecker.com? …. i’m not a programmer nor web guru, just a lay user, with some experience, virtually thinking out loud 🤔

However, while i intentionally use off-broadway alternative search engines, at the end of a web-searching-day, in some ways they tend to use …. mimic …. some of the tactics or the behaviors of the on-broadway behemoths like G🦍 / 🦖

Given these mysteries, i continue to wonder about how & why virtual resources a la Alexa report some data as possibly factual but other data as NA and yet other data as plainly wrong/spurious/mistaken ……. double 🤔 … 😄
