Paul J you’ll need to disable USB power management (usually in the BIOS). And set the power management to high performance, nothing automatic.
you pretty much need to tune the laptop like a standard full size workstation PC - forget any power optimizations. You don’t even want the CPU to be going up and down.
usually if you do all that then latency will be low.
some laptops have Nvidia graphics and those seem to generate higher latencies than AMD Radeon (or vice versa, can’t remember - worth a Google).
And get rid of any other background processes like antivirus etc.
