Florian75 In your demos on Youtube, the tone seems much cleaner (less vintage? less "untuned") than mine. Is it because you added some compression?
For the VSL Concert D 1887 video above, I have not added any compression, and it was recorded raw and exported directly from Synchron Piano Player as a WAV file. I also used Davidโs patch for the Concert D 1887 except for the velocity curve. However, for some of my other YouTube videos, I used Ableton Live Standard for layering other sounds and Ozone 11 Advanced with its available presets for mastering.

Thanks, Florian75. Just bought the VSL Bluthner Full version at 50% off. For some reason, I prefer the vintage pianos recently, and will be playing this in alternate with my VSL Concert D 1887. ๐

jenpal Just bought the VSL Bluthner
Enjoy!
A couple of years ago I was in love with this VSTi for quite some time. I never got to purchasing it though -- I wasn't prepared to expand my computing power towards satisfactorily running such a huge library. I still am not, by the way.
But the sound I heard in trustworthy demos (in particular those by @Gamma1734 ) really tickled me in a good way. I don't very often have that with piano VSTis.
Cheers and happy playing!

Thanks, HZ. ๐
I also saw Gammaโs YouTube video about the Bluthner instrument. It was actually his demo that made me appreciate the instrument. I had been considering this VSTi before, but Gamma mentioned itโs best for late romantic music, so I didnโt prioritise it yet then. ๐ค
I played it for a bit, and I love the tone of the VSL Bluthner. Itโs quite different from the Concert D 1887. ๐ฅฐ

Good morning All, how are you?
You wont believe me, but I tried this piano this weekend. Same model, but from 1886, not 1887. ๐
What surprises me is that it sounded super good like any other Steinway of the store. There was not this "slightly untuned" "a bit metallic" tone we can hear in VSL Synchron. In a sense, I would say there was not this vintage aspect we are talking about in this thread. I don't know what happened in the VSL sampling...
Have a great day!
