MHirsch Agree, how should we compare a sound of an instrument and a played back recording of an instrument? It's not fair to the playback!
Surely, this would seem like a given: “the recreation cannot possibly be better than the creation,” but I and AI humbly disagree, for you see, the “original” is no more than a canvas upon which the future is currently being built, and what is “real” if not that which our brains perceive as real?
Reality is no more than a perception based upon centuries of information, and yes, a paradigm shift that builds on those centuries is now unraveling in front of our eyes, so our perception of what’s real and what isn’t has somewhat evolved into “what can it be, this thing called reality?”
AI is showing us what “reality” can potentially be, and whilst it’s built on centuries of information (“the original template”), AI is not bound by such a template; the same template we’ve come to perceive as the only reality: “bricks laid from the bottom up, one at a time, a preconceived plan, a predictable design…….”
AI can lay all bricks at a time, not just one + one, for it need not follow any specific order of any kind; AI builds upon (as mentioned above) but it’s not bound by the rules that boxed us into the world we know!
This is a difficult pill to swallow, but then again, so is quantum mechanics, and in the same way the cat can be both dead and alive, the world can continue following a logical, one-brick-at-a-time, paradigm, or, it can be everything, everywhere, all -bricks- at once, starting from the top, or, for that matter, from the sides, or simply existing without any preconceived plan; as if by osmosis, I say!
Of course, some of you like it just the way it is, “a reality built on inflexible concrete,” but I’m all for flexibility, so yes, I want to flex, superimpose, and exist in more than one state at a time……
