Interesting... I've been hoping Ivory would sample a new piano specifically for the Ivory 3 engine as I've been curious to see how it would handle different instruments, but I have to admit this isn't quite what I had in mind. I was hoping their next release would be something really different, not just a reboot of an already existing instrument, and certainly not another Steinway D.
I've never tried the original Ivory II version of this instrument, though I gather it's quite highly regarded. And maybe it's just my mind playing tricks on me, but I seem to detect in the demo video some of the same slightly over-processed qualities that bug me about the German D.
In any case, unlike with the Modern D, I'm in no rush to try this out, but I'll be curious to see what others think when the reviews start rolling in.
