I think it'll be fantastic but the current ivory 3 libs are 40-50GBs
My beloved vsl 280vc is 51GBs after compression🤣 so i wouldn't worry about that but that would be great.
David Lai And yes to improving or resampling an American concert D. The Ivory II one is great, but lacking in real resonance responses, particularly on short notes. In all honesty, the German D on Ivory III also is a bit lacking in the same department, but the release samples there are better managed and sound much more improved.
Guess we have to accept that nothing is perfect, even the real acoustic grand pianos have some flaws in them, but if they would improve those things, it'll be topnotch
David Lai Their more recent American D's use the same action as their Hamburg counterparts, from what I understand.
Shit, they ruined it so bad with this one, the only thing that makes the ny-d such a great piano is its action, the hammers are made by the ny facility itself for the new york steinways but the Hamburg ones have a general standard action that most of the piano manufacturers in Europe are using including the bosendorfer pianos and that's what makes the most difference, the ny costume action has softer hammers, and a smoother keybed (warmer and softer sound/more dynamics/more playable) and maybe that sound so small but it changes the sound of the piano so dramatically.
