Yes, I'm currently thinking about both hybrid pianos and acoustic pianos with a silent system (Yamaha).
I didn't like the idea of the piano being in the living room and not in my room. I mainly come to practise in the evening, sometimes at 9 or 10 pm. That's the time when the living room is sometimes occupied because my flatmates are watching a movie or have visitors. It would annoy me if I couldn't get to my piano then after spending a lot of money - especially if it's a hybrid piano or a silent system and I could still play at that time.
My room is pretty small. That's why I chose the Casio PX-S 7000, so that it can be placed by the window:

Unfortunately, a piano can't be placed in front of the window and the heating. I don't want to throw out the couch, as I like to sit there and offer a seat when I have visitors. I always thought that it might look very silly and impractical if I swapped the position of the piano and couch and put the couch in front of the window, but to be honest, I don't think it looks that stupid. Only the staircase to the loft bed would be a bit narrow, but I don't think that's too bad:

So the piano could now be on the right against the wall. And now I'm thinking about renting or buying a Yamaha B1 SC2 (Silent) or TC3 (Silent + Transacoutic). I play 90% through headphones anyway and I think it would be cool to have the sound output through the soundboard with the transacoustic function.
Actually, I think I would only consider the B1 (and not B2/B3 or Kawai Silent Pianos as well as hybrids) for five reasons:
- I don't want to fill up the room with a bigger and deeper piano with consoles. The only other piano without consoles is the Kawai K15.
- The acoustic sound is completely irrelevant in my small room - I'm more interested in the fact that it has a real action, a good silent systems and that an acoustic piano retains its value better and is easier to maintain than a hybrid piano.
- I wouldn't like to have a black piano in my room that absorbs a lot of light and would like it to match my other furniture in a wood tone. The NU1X(A) and NV5S are only available in high-gloss black (or the Yamaha in white), the Kawai ATX pianos only in black.
- The B1 is the most attractive in terms of price.
- The binaural CFX sample is imo the best on the market from the manufacturers.
That's why these two pianos in particular come into question for me:
The Yamaha B1 SC2 Silent in beech (looks much better and friendlier on other pictures in the internet):

Or the B1 TC3 in mahogany (unfortunately the TC3 is not available in beech):

What do you think?
A Roland Kiyola would also look gorgeous. 😉
