navindra Wouldn't I? If my Estonia was made in 1983, hadn't been tuned, regulated, or voiced in a decade or more, submitted to uncontrolled indoor conditions, possibly exposed to bugs and rodents, and I had to move and liquidate?
But that's just not the case with this piano.
It was tuned 5 years ago and hold its tune in the base and middle very well until today. Also it is in very nice condition (did you see the photos of the piano, the soundboard, the strings, the action and the hammers?), and hasn't been exposed with bugs or rodents. It just hasn't been played that much for 10 years (which is not so bad because the hammers aren't used so much).
I am no piano technician, but I have read so much on this topic and seen so many used pianos in the last years that I know when I see an beat up used instrument and when a good one.
I posted about this Feurich in a German piano forum an these were some of the reactions (translated of course):
Henry (experienced piano technician):
Makes a good impression.
I'd take it - Feurich from that time is by no means to be despised.
Tastenscherge (also an experienced piano technician with own shop):
Universaldilettant (no piano technician, but experienced ameteur who also worked on some used pianos):
If you can live with the color and shape: Deal!... I also like the rather inconspicuous "wrong colors", but personally that would be a bit gloomy. (as a black polished console, it would probably be 3x more expensive, or would already be at a dealer) But technically, the 116s, especially from a late Langlau model year, are right up there. In any case, the price/performance ratio is top, especially if you don't replace the hammers completely straight away, I don't think you need to put another 1000 into it straight away... But if you want to have it right away, the substance seems to be good enough.
It seems to be a good piano and good deal as well.
Khuja Wangtishvili May I ask, how dis you find your piano? It was on Kleinanzeigen or another website, or it was just a dealer recommendation? I like to look for used pianos in Germany, but I do not know any other source than Kleinanzeigen.
I found it on Kleinanzeigen.
Now I am on my way to visit the last two interesting dealers (in my opinion) for good used pianos in Berlin, just in case they have something interesting.
