tempting price! First time hearing about this instrument.

David Lai There were some helpful threads at Pianoworld and VI-Control when it was first introduced, if you want more info on it. The sound and playability are decent - it's a dry sound (with close mics available), warm and woody and somewhat (but not overly) vintage, but I should point out that it doesn't have repedaling or una corda, if those things are important to you.
zrstr Thanks for saving me $10 to$ 26! 🙂 I appreciate it.
OMG, I’m giddy with excitement, for you see, a new instrument has arrived, and, as we all know, it is not everyday we see a new announcement 📣
New piano, I say, new piano! 📢
P.S.
And here I thought my green edges would metastasize into a fully developed grinch, yet a new announcement hits the street just in time to keep the green -grinch- at bay and save Christmas!
David Lai Don't mention it! 🙂
Pete14 😅
Thanks, I have just grabbed the MSoundFactoryLE for less than 8€, using all the tricks available 😅 (offer, discounts, VAT free). Now installing!
Jose EB5AGV Glad it was of some use! 🙂
zrstr yes, there are quite a lot of sounds and instruments included. For the price it is really worth it!. My only complaint so far are some cracking noises I get even if CPU and SSD are in no way stressed. The grand piano, which was what triggered the buying, except for the occasional crack, sounds good and is quite editable. There is another sampled piano available, which is a more specialised one. All in all, a really nice finding, thanks!
Does anyone know … how many GB in the grand piano download?
MacMacMac 40GB is the library size, it took about 15 minutes, on my 600Mb/s fiber connection. You can do some maths 🤔
Jose EB5AGV I haven't seen cracking yet, but I haven't used it that much yet. I saw someone in one of the forums having a similar problem (he was on a Mac); he thought it might be RAM or one of the cores of the CPU being saturated?
I sometimes try to close apps to get RAM usage down near, say, 60% ideally (on a system with 16GB RAM), otherwise cracks and pops might come. It doesn't seem like this should be necessary but it helps. I don't know if this Meldway is worse for me than other VSTs, yet.
zrstr the curious thing is that on the same machine I have tons of VSTs working fine from VSL to Kontakt ones, and also Cubase 12 Pro works fine as other audio applications do. But this one seems to struggle. I will get more into it as time permits

I’ve noticed this too with the Meldway. It’s very easy to max out the CPU and go into overload mode - easier than it should be given the specs.
I’ve long wondered if there’s a way to adjust the settings to better optimize performance, but I find the MSoundFactory software so opaque and difficult to navigate that I never want to bother.
It’s a shame the software is so crappy because the piano itself is really quite lovely.
Awesome. I wasn't exactly looking to buy another piano library right now, but $10 is a steal and this looks like a fun piano. Thanks for the tip! Downloading it now…
I have finally got it working by increasing buffer to 256 (I had it in 128). It is a temporary fix, I guess what it needs is more pre-loaded samples. Will do more tests
