Change of plans. Interesting development.
I had originally asked my painting/warranty question to a customer service rep from Genelec HQ in Finland. I had already been communicating with him about another question. When he didn't respond back I resubmitted my question and got the response back from Genelec USA that the warranty would be voided if I painted. Case closed. However, I received a response from Genelec HQ in Finland today, (service rep was on vacation and apologized for not getting back with me sooner) and he said as long as no paint gets inside the cabinets the warranty will remain valid.
That comes from a "senior customer experience specialist" at Genelec HQ Finland. The other response that said painting will void my warranty comes from a "service manger" at Genelec USA.
I think Genelec HQ Finland trumps Genelec USA. I think I'm going to paint them this weekend and still keep my 5 year warranty.
