First off, you need to try this piano and get back to us with your impressions whether you’re ‘on the market or not’; it is your duty!
Now, as you probably know, Yamaha made some significant changes to the speaker placement (subwoofer now facing upwards; bi-directional tweeters), and of course, they claim this is a massive improvement over the old NU1X, but we’ve had some mixed reviews about the matter, and some have gone as far as saying it sounds worse.
Regarding the price, $6,624, it depends on how you look at it, but I still find it high despite the ongoing “de-flation;” for some perspective, some got the NU1X for as little as $5,500 (and even less), and I believe that 6K would be a more reasonable price for the NU1X-A, but then again, that’s just my opinion, and perhaps $6,624 isn’t so bad…..
