Never heard of him, but I just searched and watched a performance on YouTube. He was a very talented man. Seems to have played with a lot of passion. RIP.

Reports mentioning prostate. Hopefully the medical side keeps working for cures for that.

He taught at my university, and was great colleagues with my professor. I also have met him twice, but all were post performance exchanges. I was told from my few friends I made in Bloomington that he was a great teacher with a beautiful personality. RIP!!!

Andre Watts was my favorite pianist.

His 1965 live recording of Chopin Concerto for Piano and orchestra N° 2 in F minor, Op. 21 with the New York Philharmonic conducted by Thomas Schippers is the best piece of music I ever listened to. I had the vinyl LP and when the Sony remastered CD came out, I bought 10 copies to ensure I would be able to listen to it forever.
