VST-Player It might be the best piano uploaded to PB in 2021 just because it was the only piano added in that year.
Yeah, I was peeved about this too because I actually finished the Fazioli in October 2021 but did not release it until January 2022. I held up the release solely because I didn't have good picture, and when you record a 10 foot grand you want to have proof.
VST-Player Can I do anything else to take away your frustration?
Thanks for the recordings - I love the people use it. You're right, it's not as good for recordings and may sound better on your monitors. If you can, make some recordings with the other instruments.
SouthPark And also - he says 'ASL', but the text says 'ALS'.
To give the benefit of the doubt, that video was made by one of the admins at PB, not the creator of the library. I totally bought, and still do, the original idea of PB, which was to preserve and share instruments, which often have sentimental stories attached. I did this with my first two instruments, but then decided to just seek out better instruments to make, since I wanted to have them myself, and fitting a 7 footer into my home would, eh, off-balance things. Then I noticed that the notoriety was still going to the cinematic pianos that had stories, so I made the "softify piano" as joke. Read what I wrote, and you can see what I was thinking:
"For those that prefer imperfect, softer, moody pianos with compressed velocity ranges, I decided to just convert one of my performance instruments into a soft piano. I could have made a nice story to sell the history of the instrument, or how much the sound means to me, but it would all be a lie. It’s literally a semi-concert grand toned down to be a soft piano. "
"Enter – the “Softify Button”, simply engage the button to turn a semi-concert grand into the moody cinematic instrument of your dreams!"
But it turns out that Spitfire's purpose in PB was to expand the community, which is not a bad thing, but it meant that because I had gotten air-time with my earlier instruments already, they were highlighting OTHERS to expand the number of samplists. The product manager at the time wrote this to me because I had complained about the release schedule for my Steinway D. They moved up the release date by 2 weeks (during the Xmas Advent calendar - best ones are always released closer to Xmas). Unbeknownst to me, it was because all of the seasoned samplists were pulling out of PB at the time and they needed repopulate the calendar at the last minute. I see this in retrospect.
