The title says it all. For those who are unfamiliar, Apple Music is the streaming music service similar to Spotify. Both services have enormous catalogs with classical music too, however the browsing and searching has always been oriented towards modern popular music where you have Artist - Album - Song. For classical music you need a very different organization with Composers, Works, Opus Number, movement, performers, orchestra, soloists, recordings and albums, etc. and all these big streaming services were awkward to use for classical music. For that reason there are niche apps such as IDAGIO. And previously Primephonic which was purchased by Apple. And now, after more than a year, the separate Apple Music Classical app for iPhone was released. It requires a regular Apple Music subscription. I like Apple Music and have been using it for years now, but as a die hard classical music fan I always struggled with its orientation towards modern music, so the new separate app is welcome and my first impressions are really great 👍🏻
