WSJ SEP. 26. There are several like articles. The ports are operating at 60 to 70% capacity. There are several articles about this situation. Most countries seem to be. experiencing it. Covid, lack of workers (truckers) are part of the problem. But itās mostly retailers trying to stock up.
āThe AmerĀiĀcan supĀply chain has so far failed to adapt to the crush of imĀports as busiĀnesses rush to reĀstock panĀdemic-deĀpleted inĀvenĀto-ries. Tens of thouĀsands of conĀtainĀers are stuck at the ports of Los AnĀgeĀles and Long Beach, Calif., the two West Coast gateĀways that move more than a quarĀter of all AmerĀiĀcan imĀports. More than 60 ships are lined up to dock, with waitĀing times stretchĀing to three weeks.ā
BTW, I personally donāt think of the WSJ as MSM. Of course it is ā main streamā in that itās been around a long time and read by the financial industry and business. I remember referring to it each morning to find stock quotes, and interest rates like fed funds. However it is not overtly politically bias as is NBC/CNN/MSNBC/FOX.
