WSJ SEP. 26. There are several like articles. The ports are operating at 60 to 70% capacity. There are several articles about this situation. Most countries seem to be. experiencing it. Covid, lack of workers (truckers) are part of the problem. But it’s mostly retailers trying to stock up.
“The American supply chain has so far failed to adapt to the crush of imports as businesses rush to restock pandemic-depleted invento-ries. Tens of thousands of containers are stuck at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, Calif., the two West Coast gateways that move more than a quarter of all American imports. More than 60 ships are lined up to dock, with waiting times stretching to three weeks.”
BTW, I personally don’t think of the WSJ as MSM. Of course it is “ main stream” in that it’s been around a long time and read by the financial industry and business. I remember referring to it each morning to find stock quotes, and interest rates like fed funds. However it is not overtly politically bias as is NBC/CNN/MSNBC/FOX.
