Fruit juices have high sugar content which in itself is also bad. I've noticed that I feel equally as heavy and dizzy when I eat sweet fruits such as apples, grapes, pineapple, pears, etc. and when I have a dessert. Besides, a glass of wine helps with the digestion, at least that's how I feel, whereas fruit juices or fruit during a meal make me feel bloated.
There have been also some scientific papers that find correlation between moderate alcohol consumption and reduction of strokes due to the alcohol itself, not any fruit components or antioxidants, i.e. you can have that effect even from heavy spirits, of course in a very small amount. We're talking about no more than a glass of wine.
@David B , what's your opinion on Jesus being described as drinking wine in the Bible? I remember there were at leat a few occasions where that was mentioned.
