Hi,
After using my N1X with VST, today i try again internal CFX sound, with internal speakers.
For me i think VRM works very good (make all resonances between undamped keys and Pedal up/down resonances transitions ) . But it's low….. lower than a real Piano. And decay faster.
Same for damper resonances….
However if i set / change the default settings to :
IAC : OFF
VRM : On
Damper Resonance at 10 instead 5
String Resonance at 10 instead 5
And sometimes Reverb 10 instead 5.
->Yamaha N1X internal sound become very nice with those settings
For me Yamaha should set higher their VRM to reach great sound and real Piano CFX. Perhaps Yamaha is afraid that some people that played Digital Pianos without Sympat. Resonances for years, says i hear "buzz"…. lol, because they have never played a real Grand with real Resonances 🙂
But i think that the Internal sound with those settings (5 to higher 10) sound better than Pianoteq and most of big VST….
The Yamaha approach good (sampling + modeling)
(But N1X doesn't keep Damper / String resonance values at reboot…., i have to change at each reboot 5 to 10)
Regards,
Olivier F.
