Irmin Garritan CFX --> EQ --> Reverb
I prefer this basic chain - where Garritan CFX in your example is any VST. However, adding reverb on reverb can muddle things up, so I prefer to get my VST sounds as dry as possible. The problem is that many concert instruments have been recorded in large halls with long release sample sustain recordings, which are difficult to clip. I prefer to feel like I'm playing a nice piano in my living room and not imaged on stage in a concert hall.
Other things you can add before the EQ include a spectral analyzer (which my EQ has), or maybe a stereo re-imager, or even other effects if you want to really mess with the sound. For that matter, you can use the ambisonic plugins and re-image things to binaural as intended with some of my libraries.
