Perhaps I should confess:
Ever since Modartt ‘admitted’ that the lower end was indeed Pianoteq’s weakest link, and went as far as saying that the main reason for this was simply that the lower end necessitated ‘more calculations per second’, I’ve been waitin’ for them extra calculations!
Several versions have come and gone since, and with every new release I read the same ‘we revoiced, and tinkered with the algorithm; and by the way, here’s a morph’, but absolutely nothing about improving the lower end; and guess what, it shows! the lower end is still lacking!
With P8 I read the same rhetoric yet again, ‘we revoiced, and tinkered with the algorithm; and by the way, here’s a classical guitar!
What gives, Pianoteq?
P.S.
Please do not tell anyone over at PW; they still think I’m a hardcore Pianoteq aficionado, and whilst I don’t “Mac & CG hate it,” I’m not sure I’m loving it either, and yes, Pete is passing on this one (I’m super happy with my on-board CFX, and now wonder if the best approach -at the moment- is indeed “sampling + modelling.”
