I've been made aware that when signing up for the forum some people may not be allowed to do so by the forum spam detection, with a corresponding message. Currently the anti-spam extension has been configured to check the sign-up information against a public database for:
- Email. Should not be a burner email service, please use a regular email, sorry about that. Also, your email address, even if from a trusted provider such as Google, Yahoo, etc. may have been reported previously. It might have been by mistake but I really don't want to disable that check, please try with another address.
- IP address - someone on the Internet reported that IP as one used by a spammer. I'm willing to disable that check and I may do that for today or the following day, however if I see some spammer influx, I will reenable it.
- Username - ditto. I will disable that check too for the moment but you may also want to try with another username, since you will also use a Nickname that is what people see on the forum and it can be (almost) anything you like.
P.S. Speaking about the Nickname, I've also created some limitations in the past, I don't remember exactly but there's a minimum and maximum length, only latin alphabet and some latin accented characters are allowed, some special character, not sure exactly what, I will check later but if you're not allowed to change your nickname, it's because of that. Once registered, let me know if you need some special nickname 🙂
