Not yet. We'll start looking to rent once we get there this week. Rents have gone up 30% in the last year so I'm not looking forward to the prospect.

I thought this affected mainly Europe due to the disrupted energy supplies. Why is there such an inflation in the US? (And I'm probably opening a can of worms... but I'm really not familiar with what's going on the other side of the Atlantic, so apologies...)

Well, social democrats (which probably is the most appropriate European term for people like the democrats in the US) always like to inflate the economy with rising prices in its wake. But I have to agree with CG here; in Europe the psychotic actions of current and previous governments has led to a lack of useable energy ressources, and therefore energy prices have gone ballistic (we're talking prices going up by a factor of 30 relative to normal years, in some cases). But to my understanding this does not apply to the US, so the massive price hikes there ought to be due to something else.

You Euro folks must learn to take a page out of the progressive’s book; blame Putin for everything. It does not fix much except simplifying daily life while we all continue to progress backwards & upside down.

We'll be staying at a church member's home who will be on vacation for the month of Aug. We haven't had one person show an interest in our home. Probably have to come down on the price. It's a beautiful property, but apparently only for a small contingent of buyers.

July 30/31, 2022, Star date - just as relevant but otherwise unknown other than to say - “it’s way out there ….. man”

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - the DoH is seeking to pay a contractor 1.7 million USD to help it spend the 66.6 million USD made available by way of the CDC’s Public Health Workforce Supplemental Funding - American Rescue Plan. Pennsylvania has until the end of June 2023 to spend it.

Less relevant but noteworthy in it’s own right, CDC - long known as the Center of Disease Control - as a quietly-enacted afterthought, also fancies itself as CDC…… and Prevention, but thus far, other than health, has little to hang a hat on in the prevention department.
