I remember a track of this name from Dr. John’s - Duke Elegent…. I also still have fond memories of seeing him and his band at the Village Gate on a New Years Eve not too long before that venue closed. So, i looked up “perdido“ and found 2 interesting points: 1) lost in Spanish; 2) a Jazz standard composed by Juan Tizol and originally recorded by Ellington in 1941.
They say “ sometimes you learn something every day”. By my reckoning, today it was a good two and a half somethings. #1 looks like kin to perdition, plus #2 a no-brainer, plus at least another .5 ‘cause with this newfound knowledge, I’m doubling down on Fiends over Friends 🎲🎲.
