The specs are pretty clear and the sound demos you can find on the kawai global site (for the new CN models) sound exactly like the old ones to my ears.
Honestly, I think they should resample (or remake the post-processing work for) all the SK-EX samples from scratch, because the current ones lack many details on the high frequencies compared to the acoustic piano sound, even when I hear them on the CA79/99 or the Novus series. And I think they should add more layers, especially for the lowest velocities, and the samples should be a little longer, so that the sustained sound would be more realistic. A better reverb algorithm cannot make up for a low-quality and/or too much filtered and/or too much post-processed sample.
But, my mistake, I forgot this big improvement on the new CN301:
the buttons now have rounded borders!! What a big news!
