“New” CFX samples?

As I’m sure you are now aware, Yamaha has released a “new-and-improved” CFX concert grand. The original CFX came out in 2010.

I was wondering when we will see/hear samples from this new CFX, and I speculate it could be in the TA-3 (TA-2 discontinued), but I wouldn’t mind a brand-new AvantGrand with samples from the new CFX and ‘more’ modeling.

I don’t know how these things work (what line-up gets the new samples first), but I’d assume it would be the top models.

Maybe when they release a new version of the P515 - P525?

Perhaps it would be appropriate to release the “newly redesigned” AvantGrand featuring these new samples + more modeling, but who knows, maybe it will be the P-525 that gets the new samples first.

I love my P515. Just got a couple VSL pianos and having a good time with taming those beasts…but I do like the CFX samples on my P515 too.

Why does a piano call for new samples?
If you want BETTER samples, ok.
But just because they've made some changes to the CFX grand? Naaah.

I agree. Does a new piano automatically mean new samples must be derived?

I also admit that most of what i think i know about the process of recording GPs for the purpose of rendering samples to be used in DPs, is mostly from having watched and read and studied you guys talking about this; all the pain-staking effort and expense and preparations and costs to which DP mf’ers must subject themselves in order to extract the once-coveted pure nectar from sterile recording chambers - samples - that are slowly but clearly, gradually, being replaced by virtual algorithmic computer processing techniques as the new this/it for producing digital piano music.

After the CFX, the new CFX. I guess that after the N1X I will have the new N1X. (I was worried about the new name…N1XX, N1Y… now I have the future name. 😄)

Surely, CG will have to get the new N1X, for a forum owner cannot be seen with yesterday’s -old- N1X!😆
