Today it was confirmed that the Dutch fine art musician Henny Vrienten has passed away at the age of 73, after a severe illness that surfaced some time ago.
Henny has an unbelievable track record of musical creativity and lovely musical projects. He was a composer, bassist, pianist, and band leader of great virtue.
A few years ago, it was a documentary about him and his son, both gifted bassists, that made me realize with a jolt the soft spot I have for the (double) bass. From there, I started delving into Jazz and Bass and that initial journey brought me to… the piano.
Henny -- thanks for your great contributions and may you be in peace now.
