In their series of overpriced sub-standard products we just got a new felt piano from Steinberg: verve
https://www.steinberg.net/de/vst-instruments/verve/
It's included with the new Cubase 12 Pro release and takes roughly 7 GB of space. It would have been a nice addition to Steinberg's Halion sampler (which it is), but the pricing for the solo product is just insane considering that it is missing standard features of competing products (like sympathetic resonance). With that in mind they continue their line of poorly executed piano libraries, claiming to have used a one finger robot to record the samples…….. where measuring the recorded signal amplutude is clearly preferable IMHO because it accounts for differences in key mechanics way better.
It would have been a neat product for 39€, comparable to many of the other medium quality, sub-standard sample pianos out there, but 119€ is clearly a bit nutty.
