Johnstaf I remember tripping on tramadol, and I had just taken two.
It's funny how a med can affect people differently.
My wife doesn't like tramadol, but I do.
She fears addiction, so she takes tylenol with codeine.
For me the latter is somewhat effective, but not nearly as much as the tramadol.
Anyway ... I'm surprised my thread turned into a discussion of narcotics. 🙂
Meanwhile ... I'll just be spending my time at home. No driving for two weeks. Only as a passenger, and only for short trips. And no heavy lifting for three months.
Fortunately my wife has healed enough to go to the market herself. She's recovering from a detached retina. (Yes, we both have had our ordeals in retirement. Enough already!)
When I become driver-eligible once again next month I'm expecting my new car to be delivered. It's on order (on "allocation") to a dealer about 100 miles away in Ohio. The dealers here and everywhere have no stock and can only look at build-sheet to tell them what they can expect in the coming month or so.
The reason for the new car is that mine was totaled on Christmas Eve. There's a teenager in town who needs to learn what a STOP sign means. (Enough already!)
And wifey's cataract development is expected to accelerate because of the eye surgery. That's an easy procedure. But still ... enough already!
I can only hope that nothing more crops up this year.
Meanwhile ... I've been giving advice to everyone I meet: RETIRE EARLY. The medical issues that have piled up over the last few years have prevented us from doing the very things we wanted to do in retirement. Had I retired at 60 we would have had five years of decent health before our descent into medical purgatory.
Take heed. RETIRE EARLY!
