But that’s the thing, Mac, they’re all cache, and very little substance!
A little cache is fine, but when you’re cashing-in on mostly hand-made cache, I have a problem; not just with Steinway, but also with society.
And this “philosophy” extends to all things cache, like Gucci, Prada, and whatever the hell the devil wears. People owning these products do feel a sense of superiority; because, you know, the rest of us peasants can’t afford them; and no, I’m not resentful!!!
Have you seen a Gucci-wearing biatch walking down the street? The bag seems to be carrying her, and not the other way around.
Steinway is -by today’s standards- okay at best, and their prices should reflect that average reality. They’re all cache and very little substance, or how else can you explain Spirio?
Spirio, an overrated ‘player-piano’ that does nothing remarkable, yet Steinway claims it’s the most accurate reproducing system, as always, with no evidence whatsoever to back it up; but let us assume it is ‘the most accurate’, who cares? The system is a novelty at best, but the TransAures2, now, that is a work of art that also happens to be functional in many ways.
Finally, do you know how much a Steinway S costs (a terrible piano)? I rest my case!
