I heard that Steinway is going ‘public’; I didn’t even know they were private to being with…..
Now, this could be a good thing, right?
The over-simplified notion is that this is bad because now they have to answer to money-hungry shareholders, bla, bla, bla, but the truth is that it’s all ‘bout making money, private or not, and going public might simply force Steinway to come out of the previous century and embrace the future by immediately getting to work on a hybrid!
Am I dead wrong?
P.S.
If I had the money, I’d buy them out a la Musk; and the first thing to go out the window is the ‘sons’, and all the hand-made BS!
Under my command, “Steinway” will be replaced by “Stansway.” Also leaving is the “hand-made” motto, and in its place, “by people for the people.” You see where I’m going? I will make Stansway into the people’s piano, and, in the process, do away with centuries of elitism, snobbery, I’m-better-than-you, and stubbornness!
Would you buy a Stansway hybrid?
