CyberGene indeed your playing is always better! How do you approach harmonizing those songs? I hear more and more extended chords in your playing, such as maj7 and different alterations of the dominant seventh chords, chord substitutions and I'm wondering if you've been practicing/reading some theory stuff? Or are those notated arrangements? In both cases your playing is very convincing
I started this course by Greg Howlett last year and it has helped with learning and incorporating Maj/m/dom 7ths, 6ths, diminished, and half-diminished chords. That along with the Duane Shinn material has given me a roadmap for arranging. I read music so poorly that it's too tedious to lean a song from sheet music. Hopefully that will change if I can motivate myself to practice reading music more often. For now I just take simple hymns and do the best I can with them. The second song in the medley at the end (Amazing Grace) was a song covered in Duane's Praise and Gospel course, so I got a lot of help with that arrangement. The first song in the medley was one I arranged on my own. It's obviously a much more simple arrangement.
God Bless,
David
