Well, the UI looks like AI generated and the Grand seems more like a B211 to me.
I think that guy went nuts. The piano timbre is horrid, all recording have insane level of reverd and the prices 250$. Lol. Who will buy it if for the same price you can get true Modern D - the one made by VI Labs? I do not see this software making much of sales. Especially top 3 octaves sounds like 110cm Pearl River upright. Or grand from the end of XIX century. I might be too harsh, but given the price I absolutely do not see any reason to buy it.
The have a trail version 😉
I am confused about this video. Either the pianist (if it is a real person and not AI generated) is too good with his preservation of moment for the audio from this masterpiece or he is mimicking and the audio is overlayed (not the actual audio from the video shot).
Pianists, can this be so or is it just me seeing it this way? Ok, it is for advertisment so who cares. But I have questions:
| from the specs: | ||
|---|---|---|
| Microphone perspective | Player (Mics used: 4x Sanken CO-100K, 2x Sanken CUX-100K, 2x Schoeps MK22, 2x Coles 4038, 1x Royer SF-24V, 1x Sanken CU-51, 1x AEA R88, 2x Schoeps Grenzfläche) | |
| Velocity layers | 20 layers | |

| Release samples | 6 layers + 6 layers staccato | |
| Round robins | 2x 20 layers | |
| Una corda samples | 20 layers | |
| Repetition strike samples | 20 layers | |
| Sympathetic resonance | Sample-based | |
| Sample optimization | Player-perspective microphone mix and AI-assisted sample optimization for balanced spectrum, reduced resonances, warmth and clarity. |
20 layers of which how many are AI‑assisted? Smokes! That is 15 mics used. Chromatic per note\key sampling or "pitch‑shifted"?
Sounds like a 90s synth to me. Not to be confused with a similarly named product which is much better in tone and tamber.

Thsnk you, very well said.
I am not buying it (both connotations). Specs sound over‑boasted to be true really albeit "Ai assisted" description which does not clarify anything.
20 Velocity layers is humanly impossible, well maybe that is where Ai comes in. I doubt it is solenoids possible either due to piano's limited dynamics mechanically (the action).
VSL claims 0.5dB step possibility in this video. No measurements though.
Anyway, let's believe the 20 vel. layers for a moment for the 'Live Grand Modern D'. Is it chromatic per note\key? 15 mics though. have you seen even 3 mics setup around a piano. Now imagine 15. Bloated and boasted.
