[deleted] Hey everyone - I'm looking for a good collection of advanced piano solo Christmas music. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't mind spending about $25 for the book but I can't seem to find one that has advanced enough score in it….
CyberGene I'd be interested in one too. Well, by advanced I don't mean "Rachmaninov tries to impress Liszt" advanced. Just something more than the most simple and basic arrangements.
[deleted] Right - I by no means meant Rachmaninov or Liszt! But I wanted something a little more than simplified stuff. In particular I was looking for a nice version of Silent Night with a flowing baseline and some short arpegiated chords in the right - I can kind of improvise one out of a more basic score that I have, but that really isn't my forté
QuasiUnaFantasia You may want to peruse this thread: https://pianoclack.com/forum/d/155-christmas-at-the-piano
MacMacMac The link in that thread doesn't work. Whether in Firefox or Chrome, all I get is a flashing blue banner at the top of the window. https://1drv.ms/b/s!Aq5RA8FZygcyhPs9UlE1272vNVSFcQ?e=icnFfC
bSharpCyclist Would this work? I haven't tried it yet, but it's been sitting in my Amazon list for quite some time now. Perhaps I'll give a try.
[deleted] bSharpCyclist Funny you should ask…. I ended up ordering it- supposed to be here tomorrow. I'll let you know if it looks good when I get it.
bSharpCyclist [deleted] I thought about getting a digital version from Alfred.com, but not sure if I can get a pdf to import into Forscore.
CyberGene I found this. Some of those are interesting and there are links to where one can buy the sheet music: https://artiden.com/jazz-christmas/
[deleted] bSharpCyclist so the book showed up today. It’s actually perfect. Super easy to site read and the arrangements are intermediate IMO. Most are quite nice. I’d say it was worth buying. The silent night arrangement is a little lacking but overall it has all the standards and a few extra ones to boot. Kind of hard to keep the book open but it’s starting to get better
bSharpCyclist [deleted] Thanks Danno! I'd prefer an electronic version, but it appears there is no pdf option. I'd have to use the ebook reader of choice. I'm hacking my way through Dance of Sugar Plum fairy now, that will keep me busy 🙂
