That's the biggest complaint I have with Noire. The attack on the upper registers is pretty strong and there is no way to temper the harshness without a soft pedal. Overall I find the expression and tone of the Noire to be very pleasing.

jdg78 It just doesn't provide the same degree of refinement and control as VSL or Garritan, especially within the softer velocities.

There's something weird with the releases in 300 grand also. If you crank the release level up, some staccatos sound like you're re-triggering the notes on key-off, but if you reduce the level low enough to fix that, staccatos sound unnaturally abrupt. Maybe it is some kind of technical limitation with Kontakt -- I haven't heard convincing staccatos in any Kontakt piano (including Noire, which is probably my favorite Kontakt piano), whereas they feel/sound pretty natural in the Synchron pianos, Modern U, and Ivory 3.

It'd be interesting to see what happens if Jason ever decides to let the community collaborate on fixing this up. It has a lot of potential.

I've had some similar issue a loooong time ago. I contacted Jason and he fixed it without blinking in no time.

I'm under the impression that either he and/or PV aren't doing too well (personal stuff). But I don't have any facts, so don't want to spread rumors that may be unfounded after all.

I also had some long conversation with him in the past, but now - almost month waiting for response. There is a topic on VI-Control, where someone says he talked with his wife and Jason left PV and joind some 'Muse'? company.

There was a rumor on other forum(s) that Production Voices is dead project. He might abandon it or something. I would share files with you, but I only have the full version.
