HZPiano If you currently own P515 and are happy without specific wishes for changes, then no there is no use in upgrading.
This!
I wanted to love it, and yes, I effing bought it, but only kept it for a few weeks, and then returned it!
I hear lots of people saying the action “feels like a Steinway I once played,” and I’m baffled, because this action ain’t nowhere near a Steinway action.
For me, the instrument is a contradiction in terms; the action is, yes, too light and flimsy; the key surface feels like an ice skating rink for your fingers (not a good thing); the black keys being extremely slippery.
And now for the biggest contradiction: the sound!
Yes, the samples are “better,” but no they don’t sound better; hence, the contradiction; and I believe this has to do with speakers/configuration, overall amplification/phasing, and perhaps even the enclosure itself.
It seems like Yamaha should’ve taken more care in redesigning the “sound system & enclosure” to better suit the more detailed sampling, but they did not do that; hence the lacking end result.
I maintain that the P-515 is a masterpiece, and the 525 a lackluster sequel!
IMHO!
