It's interesting, but my main two thoughts are:

I wonder who in Far East Asia is actually manufacturing it for Feurich
Why is Feurich's own introduction video trying to raise my blood pressure by constantly claiming that "a sostenuto pedal is usually only found in acoustic pianos". My Yamaha PF-80 from the 80's had a socket for a sostenuto pedal for Bach's sake! All my digital pianos have had a sostenuto pedal. And they are marketing this for beginners who don't need a sostenuto pedal for Beethoven's sake! And why do they say that it works by "pressing it at the same time that you strike the notes"? It works by playing the notes afterwards. They should know. They make pianos for Mozart's sake!

From about three+ years ago, apparently from a French brand that allegedly no longer exists.

I do like the layout of this Olya, and it even has 5-pin DIN next to USB (are you listening, Roland and Kawai?!).

I also think it is a clever marketing concept with a two year full refund on purchasing a "real" Feurich.

The name "Olya" makes it impossible to believe the two instruments are not related (Feurich's is called "Olya EVO", whereas the Colmann instrument is called "Olya Pro"). They do not have the same stand (the French one is curved, whereas the Austrian one isn't).

Indeed, the notes need to be played first, their individual dampers need to be lifted.

Then the sostenuto bar can slip under those lifted dampers (not literally under the damper felts of course) thus holding them up.

On release of the sostenuto pedal, the held dampers become free again to fall back onto their strings.

they went to the china bazaar and signed a contract with the first ugly digital piano they saw.

the buyer feurich sent literally walked 10 steps and gave up. 😉
