Speaking of which, I'm currently looking to purchase a M2 mac mini, and noticed that the base model with 8GB ram is currently on sale. Wondering if anyone has tried out this model with the Synchron Pianos, and if so, have you found the performance to be sufficient?
I know VSL recommends 16GB minimum ram for the Synchron piano engine, but I've heard that M2 macs with 8GB unified ram are capable of performance equivalent to, or better than, 16GB ram in more conventional machines. I'm currently using an older 2015 intel-based imac, which runs the VSL pianos fairly well (provided I don't run too many mics at once), but that has 32GB ram.
Apart from the VSL pianos, I don't really have any applications that would require significantly better performance than the base model offers, so I'm wondering if I can "get away" with just the 8GB ram, or if it really would make a significant difference if I upgrade to 16GB ram?
