Thank you, SP, and yes, I respond better to genuine criticism, and not to the woke approach; which is to ‘humiliate those we don’t like into a corner’, whilst claiming “we’re trying to make the world a better place.”
Oddly enough, I am saying ‘something’ if you look closely within my embellishments, and I’m not, as implied, always being absurd for the heck of it; but yes, my “approach” does rub some people wrong; especially those who need everything to be neatly organized, literal, and properly filed for future generations to learn from.
Perhaps what broke the camel’s back for Khuja was the most recent thread from David, whence I suggested VSL ‘cut down on their samples’; well, it turns out I genuinely believe they are overrated, and not moving the ball forward by simply offering more of the same (samples) and not adding/developing more modeling, but of course, I phrased it in quintessential Pete.
Also, when things get a little out of control, it is unfair to say ‘it’s that Pete,’ because I tend to follow ‘your lead’, and if this leads into absurd territory, so be it, but very rarely do I jump into a thread just for the heck of it, or to “devastate it,” and if I do (jump in) and no one “follows my lead,” I quickly retreat.
I wonder, was it the “PianoVerse” thread that really pissed you off? because that’s a clear example of what I’ve said above: I “opined” about the outdated nature of samples, and how I’d like to see “these geniuses” working on the technology of the future (modeling) instead of consistently rehashing the past (sampling); which I believe is simply the easier/lazier approach….no one followed my lead, so I dropped it; the conversation continued, and “the creators” of PianoVerse continued responding and even defending themselves against some ‘accusations’ posted by a disgruntled customer, “your customer-service sucks, I say.” There, I did it again, quintessential Pete, and perhaps Mac is right: ‘Pete can’t take a break from being…. Pete’…..whatever the heck that is.
P.S.
SP, I read your review of the Yamaha YH-WL500 headphones; thanks for confirming there’s no perceivable latency.
