I'm wary of switching over to iLok from the old eLicenser dongles.

I save the complete web-page of that 'virtual' piano (which isn't actually a piano because it doesn't have loud/soft control of the notes - but can still do at least a few things on it by using the computer keyboard keys to play monophonic tunes hehe), and then I just use my web-browser to play that thing off-line. The reason for playing it 'off-line' is so that it stops the advertisement from coming in, which can make the sound jittery when the ads come in. But once the advertisements are stopped - smooth sailing -- or smooth playing.

I've always found (and mentioned before as have many others) the refusal of VSL to at least use/honor iLok's machine licensing option ridiculous. And VSL, in my book, is the type of company that isn't too good at listening.

So if this is the case today, well, there you have it.

VI Labs and e.g. Acousticsamples use iLok too but provide the machine licensing option. My piano computer running Modern U is always offline and I can play it whenever I like.

SouthPark to play monophonic tunes

Wow! Just found out it is polyphonic!! Nice. Although … most or all of us prefer an full scale hardware harpsi style keyboard with weighted keys of course.

Everything is working fine for me. Just fired up the F308. I gave up on the dongle with the switch to ilok. Even though VSL/ilok online activation has been reliable, I still wish machine activation was an option just in case the hypothetical server crash happens.

That's good - I was wondering if it was a systemic problem. One of these days I'm going to activate my 6+ demo licenses. I've only activated one so far and it's been since June 2022.
